Pinterest.
At first, I avoided it.
Then, I did what everyone does
and pinned every thing I saw and liked.
Now, I use it as a valuable resource.
One of the very first images I ever pinned
was this bright, bold, and beautiful quilt
by MamaCJT.
I knew that some day I'd want to make it.
Well, some day arrived, and I discovered she released the pattern
five years ago! Oh, no! It's been a long time!
But, I contacted Carol and thankfully she still had a copy
and she sent it to me right away.
Here's my version.

Here's my version.
The colors aren't true.
It's red, orange, yellow, puke green, green, lt. blue, blue, purple.
It's made from all Kona, but I didn't keep track of color names.
I purchased my Kona from my local Joann's
and there weren't many color options available,
so I went with what they had.
Okay.
Actually, I tried to match the colors with the picture she posted.
I'm getting ready to leave.
There's no time for imagination at this stage.
It measures 54x61",
which didn't sound big,
until I finished the flimsie yesterday.
I thought it would make a great baby quilt for a boy
and thought I'd just layer it up and quilt it off real quick.
As you can see, it completely covers Crafty Daughter,
who was kind enough to hold it up for me.
I think it's going home to Cape Breton
so I can quilt it on my Janome.
I'll make another, smaller, baby boy quilt!
Speaking of Pinterest,
my favorite "go to" board is Crafty Daughter's
Recipe Success.
It's a community board she set up
sharing only recipes that were tried
and passed muster.
It's no secret that I don't like to cook.
This board has been a life saver for me.
I don't have to think.
I just have to be hungry!
~
This little friend was visiting yesterday afternoon.
I couldn't resist running in to get my camera.
I'm a lot better at taking pictures of lizards
than I am quilts!
Have a great day!
Keep it simple, make it fun!
XO,
Karen

So pretty! It looks very cheerful. Many of the quilts I intend to give away just end up staying with me. I just can't give them up! Congratulations on a lovely finish!
Gotta love the pop of colour in that quilt! It can still be a baby boy quilt - great for tummy time, playtime, and it would grow with him to a toddler bed...I like my "baby quilts" on the large size :)
Hello, the colors are pretty and it is a huge quilt. The lizard is cute, great visitor. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!
That is a beautiful quilt and a perfect size!! Have fun on Pinterest, I love it! Cute lizard and your photo of it is perfect!
Awesome quilt! I love pinterest and have been saving pictures of things that I like to use in our new house.
Lovely quilt. It looks great!
That is a stunning quilt ! So bright and bold ...cute little lizard too :)
"Puke green" Haha!
It's really great!
Hi Karen ,boy what a lovely quilt, yes I love looking at lite rest lots of amazing and clever things in there, hope you have a lovely day my friend
Such a fun quilt! Just makes me happy looking at it; however, "puke"green wasn't my favorite! It really did turn out quite large but would make a nice lap quilt. I would love to see it done smaller in a baby quilt. Was it as easy and quick as it looks? Great picture of the lizard, btw.
Will have to check out "recipe success". Thanks for sharing.

LOVE these bright colors and the linear is so appealing, and I like the puke green too!! :o)
This is so bright and cheery. You did a great job with this pattern.
That lizard (gecko?) picture is amazing! You should link it to Soma's Wandering Camera. LOVE this quilt!! You did a great job. Lucky you to have your daughter with you; is she visiting? Put her to work ha!
Wow .... Stunning 💗💗💗💗
It's gorgeous, Karen! (I laughed when I read "puke green", imagining if that was an actual Kona colour *-) I am glad that lizard is near you and not me!
Gorgeous quilt! Love those bright colours and those perfect circles! You'll love quilting this one!
I have that quilt pinned as well, always loved seeing it - great job - you should keep it for a couch cuddle quilt!
What a great quilt! I wonder how it would look using scraps of each color instead of the solid fabric. Maybe a possibility for RSC17?!?
I love that quilt. Has it really been five years since it was posted? Amazing!
Your critter picture is awesome. The detail is incredible and I am surprised it stood still that long.
So many times I have made an Afghan and used slightly different colors than those called for in the pattern. However, I often like my selection best. I hope you do too.
It is a lovely bright quilt. Those circles (applique, I presume) add a touch of modern. Very classy, indeed. Your little friend loves the quilt and smiles in approval :-)
And thank you for visiting my blog and your sweet comment on my Skipped a Stone!
Hugs,
Preeti.

Awesome! You did an amazing job. Love it! This will be a fun one to quilt up.
Your quilt is gorgeous and proof that "it takes as long as it takes". We can never give up on what we want to make, do or be. Thank you for the link to recipes. Cooking is not my favorite way to spend precious time. Very cute Lizzie. Beautiful Spring Days Dear...
That's one of my favorite designs too Karen. You did a great job on it!! Good for you for following up and finally making something you love. My Pinterest boards are full of great quilts I want to make someday - perhaps your success will inspire me!
What a great quilt design! And I love your colorful version of it. Hmm, good recipes are always nice to find and I'm with you on not liking to cook ;-) It's much more fun to quilt....
Quilts and lizard both looking good! Thanks for the photos. You did a great job on the quilt, and the colors look terrific to me. Thanks for the recipe link. I'll check it out. Paul was the cook, not me! I don't pin anything, but I do follow about 5 boards.
I have a love/hate relationship with pinterest, lol. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your quilt!!! I think it would be great smaller, too, can't wait to see how you quilt it. I think if I saw a lizard I wouldn't run for my camera, I'd just run....
Great job on your quilt. Sorry that it ended up too big for the baby quilt!! Oh well, this way you get to use it for yourself. lol
