Happy Spring

The first day of spring was yesterday?
As usual, I'm a day late,
and as always, a dollar short.

When Crafty Daughter says, "Mom, will you make me a/some....,
she always gets what she asks for!!
It's difficult to resist, especially when someone
really appreciates your work.

Awhile back, she asked for seasonal wallhangings.
We searched around and decided Kim Schaefer's Calendar Quilts

looked like a fun place to begin the journey.

I've just completed the hand-quilting,
and now only lack a label.

(Do you hand-quilt?
a blog I only recently discovered.)

A machine applique project,
it worked up fairly quickly.
This is my second one.

(Of course, there are bugs on it!
Come to think of it , there are bugs on the first one I made, too!)

Not all of my daughter's seasonal wallhangings
come from this book,
but there are still some cute ones left for me to make!

Happy Spring!
Time goes by fast enough, and I hate wishing it away,
but I'm glad spring has finally arrived
(in most places)!

  3. I have two of Kim S. books and really like them, most patterns are fairly simple and easy to construct!

  4. You make it look easy and fun! An expert quilter always does. That would be you. Maybe a wall hanging would be a good start for a beginning quilter. That would be me, of course.

  8. Happy Spring, Karen! We woke to snow this morning and rain yesterday, so I'm not sure if spring has really arrived. But this is typical weather for our area. The wall hanging is adorable. I think I need to check this book out. You do beautiful work and I know your daughter appreciates your wonderful talent. Nola

  9. Your hand quilting is wonderful! That's something I have no desire to do, and now my hands would never let me.
