Checking It Off My List

I'm a lister.
And as my time to return to Cape Breton draws closer and closer,
my list of things to do gets longer and longer.
One of the things I like to do
is to be able to check things off my lists.
I've even been known to add something I've done
that isn't on the list,
just so I can check it off!

Check!

This wonky churn dash flimsy is finished and ready to pack!
It's a stormy day, so a picture on the wall will have to suffice.
Can't wait to get it on my Janome
and try my hand at all that negative space.
It measures 54x60.
Not too daunting!

If I'd had a nice big design wall,
I might have played a little with the block placement.

But it is what it is
and I'm happy with it.

It was very helpful to have finally broken down
and made a few of these

~

On one of my most recent walks,
I came across this pretty little skipper.

Just another of Mother Nature's little gifts!

Thanks for popping in!

Keep it simple
and
make it fun!

XO,
karen

  4. I'm a lister as well - I've been known to have 5 different list going at the same time especially when we are getting ready to leave with the camper for a month or more - list of what to do in the house, what to put in the camper, food prep for a couple quick meals when we first get going, quilting stuff to bring LOL - it can go on and on LOL

  5. You're so like me, snapping photos on walks, marvelling at Mother Nature. And also like me in the checking off items on a list department! Love that. :-) Wow I LIKE your wonky churn dash. Will be checking that out!

  9. oh my gosh, oh my gosh it is amazing... I love it... I always only think of squares and boring things so that is just sensational..... I love those design boards - forevermore they are an essential for sewing blocks...

  10. Looks like we're interested in a lot of the same things, KaHolly! I like your wonky churn dash, and I searched to find some of your cookies. Very nice! I like to make lists, too.

  11. That certainly is a beautiful check! I do the same thing - add something to my list that I've already done so that I can check it off! I'm sure it's good for us mentally if nothing else. Julie@TheCraftyQuilter.com

  12. I didn't see that layout coming at all! I love it. I confess I'm also a list maker, and glad to know I'm not alone in adding things I've done so I can have the satisfaction of checking them off! Actually,I cross it off, as in draw a line through it. That's doesn't make for as fun a layout as your checkmark though!

  15. LOVE the setting you chose for those wonky churn dashes - it's going to be spectacular when you get it quilted!

Lists, you say? :) It's how I roll, too - my pockets are full of them. Last week for the first time it dawned on me that I could do the list on my phone... but somehow it just didn't have the same sense of satisfaction one gets crossing things off!

We'll try to get the sun shining over Cape Breton for your return!

  20. Fabulous quilt! Love that version of churn dash. I might have to try my hand at a few of those. The design boards need to come on line here, too. I usually use a half-size cutting mat, but it isn't always the best idea.

I can hardly wait to see what you quilt in all that beautiful space. I have that list vice, or virtue, too.
