June OMG Accomplished

June has been a funky month.
The weather didn't decide to cooperate until
the very first day of summer.
Whew!
That was a long, cold, wet, miserable wait!

That said, there's nothing like stepping out first thing in the morning
and smelling that ocean air!  Rain or shine!

Justly so, there was a lot of sewing time
and I was able to complete the top for my June OMG.

My rule is to use what I have
and I only had enough dark navy for a 60" x 60" top,
so I will incorporate the remaining blocks into the backing.

Dare I try to commit to having the quilting completed
for my July OMG?
I'm giving it some serious thought.

Linking up to Red Letter Quilts.

Enjoy your day!

  12. Go for it! I find that if I transition into quilting a newly finished top, I still have a connection with it and the quilting flows more smoothly. Much less chance that it remains a UFO that way too :*). Love your determination to use what you have. I'm very much like that too and love pulling from my stash and making it work!

  21. Love how you're approaching this challenge! Nice to use up fabric, isn't it? And to make something as pretty as this. Oh, and I'm envying your clothesline! I miss having one, not only to hang clothes to dry, but for the perfect place to hang a quilt for a picture. Glad you and your quilt top are enjoying the scent of the ocean. I'm sure it's lovely, and much appreciated by you.

  27. What a lovely quilt top! I'm looking forward to seeing how you put the other blocks into the backing. I love quilts that are interesting from both sides. I just looked at your previous post. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's concerned about being consumed by computer time! And in the summer, there are so many other competing activities. (But I'm not complaining!)
