Journal Cover

I am just so proud of myself.  This morning I completed a Journal Cover that had been featured on the Moda Bake Shop  web page back in November.  Roslyn Mirrington of  Bloom shared a wonderfully written tutorial  that I squirreled away for another time, and that time was now!  I used fabric from my scrap basket and embroidery floss that I had purchased for next to nothing from a flea market.

I just love the little embroidered flowers!

I have to confess that I had to take the final step apart once
because the cover fit a little too snug!

But I am pleased enough with the results to share
here today.  Excuse the hastily taken pictures.
 I was so very excited!

When I showed The Ranger, he said he'd have to get me
to make covers for all his guide books out of
camouflage fabric.  He said that when I showed him
my guide book tote bag, too!!  He'll need to purchase
lots of camouflage fabric if everything I make I
have to re-make out of camouflage fabric for him!
It's a good thing forest rangers don't wear skirts!

How sweet!! I see you're keeping your hands busy! Em and I are doing menu planning and grocery shopping with her taking the lead... Hanging with Nana and keeping up with Josh via video skype and Jon via the ALERT Training blog... it's great to have a visual connect.
I send a big hug, Patty

Great idea! I think I'll make some in camo for my grandsons and girly fabric (birds and butterflies?) for my grandchildren--maybe give each one a different field guide. Maybe the shoulder bag for the girls. You are just so so clever!!

Oooh! Great project. I've bookmarked it. Maybe that would be a great way to jumpstart my creativity? Thanks!

Oh my goodness Karen, another beautiful creation, this is so cool, I love it! The fabric is wonderful and I'm sure the Ranger will love his camo covers.

I have the Renee Award for you over at my blog - you have been a wonderful new friend these past weeks, and I so appreciate your kind encouragement and support. So come on over, grab the award and display it proudly, it's very special!

I will get a proper snail-mail thank you to you for the gorgeous tissue cozies, but I hope you got my e-thank you. I just love it, I bring it with me everyday! I will send my good friend Barbara the other soon.

Have a wonderful week! Susan

Just beautiful - the embroidered flowers finish it off perfectly! Not sure it would look as good in camouflage fabric - at least the Ranger is practical!
