Christmas Gift Idea
I've been having fun making my great-niece
a little Christmas gift of fabric letters
to manipulate on the floor.
They measure approximately 4.25" x 5.25".
She'll get the whole alphabet,
of course,
but thought I'd start with her name,
just in case.
Seems like it would be easy enough,
but 26 letters turned out to be A LOT!!
You can find the tutorial HERE.
Great stashbuster!
I plan to make a few extra b's and t's, m's and d's
so she can learn to spell words like
baby and kitty, mommy and daddy,
and I'll put them all in a simple
drawstring bag.
Hope this gives you an idea or two!
I see so many possibilities!
I have a few stragglers hanging out on my property.
A small flock of juvenile Yellow-rumped Warblers.
Also referred to as "Butter Butt"
Like me, they are reluctant to leave such a beautiful place.
Have a nice day,
karen

Great idea! I bet they'll be played with a lot!
those letters are very cute. :) i like butter butts, too!
good idea for a present! love the birds - I need to get another feeder to put in front of the sewing room window - I moved it last spring when I started a garden so the birds wouldn't tear it up looking for seeds that dropped but I like it where I put it so I need to pick up another - and it has to be squirrel proof or as much as possible because they are always trouble around here!
those letters are great.... there is a lot of them to do!!! lovely bird pictures and what a beautiful spot to watch them...

Thanks for sharing the link to the tutorial. I like the way yours have turned out, I like the edges finished rather than ragged looking.
I think a set of these are in my future.
the fabric letters look great..
Can see why you don't what to leave that beautiful spot.
What a great idea....awesome spot...
a very cute idea for a Christmas gift. She will have so much fun with those letters.
The nick name of the bird made me smile. Thanks.
Wow, that IS a beautiful place! And the alphabet letters are a great idea.
Your project looks like a great one for beginners as well as experienced crafters. I'll have to beg for some scraps from someone who's experienced.
The butter butts are cute little things. You're fortunate to be able to live in two places and enjoy the best of both worlds.
What a clever idea. She is going to love them. Thanks for sharing the link. I don't blame these little birds for not wanting to leave. I wouldn't want to either. Nola
