I love spring!
And I get to welcome this time of renewal in Texas,
Puppy helping me clean out and rehang birdhouses. |
then in Massachusetts,
(I might enjoy it more here in Cape Breton if it was a little warmer!)
After a month of travel and a week back,
I've finally set up my sewing stations,
reacquainted myself with my Janome,
and made my 'to do' list.
I've visited lots of friends and family,
have seen many migrating birds,
and went hiking at some new places,
but now it's time to start sewing again!
I'd say I've got the Spring Market cornered, for sure,
and instead of new lines of fabric and patterns,
I enjoyed 'the fabric and patterns of nature'.
Speaking of visiting friends,
I had a lovely visit from Julia, all the way from Yarmouth, NS.
She blogs over at Jada's Quilting Adventures.
She was raised on the island and still has family here.
She brought her sweet sister to meet me, too!
She's a new quilter!
We never thought to get a picture, though!
Have a great week!

you do stretch out the best of the season from one end to the other! :)
Hello, Happy Spring! I like your puppy helper. And the chipper is cute. the Trout lilies are lovely flowers.I am glad you were able to see some of the migrating birds. Wondeful nature post, enjoy your day!
Love that barn quilt! I have the wood, now I just need to prime and paint it, but I can't decide on the block.
Hope it warms up for you soon! Good to know you are settling back into your 'new' routine. I love your version of Spring Market!
Glad you're safely back at home...its going to be a good summer for your sewing projects!! I love your barn quilt!
What an adventure! Natural patterns are the best in my book :-) They make the best memories and it sounds like you had a great time with friends and family. I love that barn quilt!!
Great you are settled a bit now.... looks just lovely travel pictures and it must be lovely to touch base with your sister again...

I think of all the posts I've seen about Spring Market (inundated with them on IG) I like yours the best!
Welcome home - love love love your new Barn Quilt!!! Your "Alvin" pic cracked me up.
Lovely photographs Karen and interesting travels I am sure. Hope the weather warms up for you and that your to do list gets done! xx
you have had a nice long spring haven't you. Have a great summer
Ahhhh. Wonderful spring. Love all your photos, especially your helpful puppy. I came across a barn quilt route in Ontario. I think I will have to take a look at that. Happy Sewing now that you are all set up for it. My spring has been mostly about the garden. But that's okay. I love the outdoors and the patterns of nature!
Interesting post and I think your spring market is the best kind ! Loved your pictures and what a great barn quilt !
The puppy is so cute. Great pictures und a beautyful barn .
It was such a great visit :) I can't wait to visit again! I love Spring! Thanks for sharing some of your beautiful creations :)
Hi Karen... Hmmm maybe a trip to the Cape would make it easier to meet up LOL :} If I had money sigh*.
I don't believe I was at home when you was here. I had to go to my daughters to stay a week with the grandson while she was away for here work, then a visit to my other daughter in northern Maine took up the first two weeks of May. Now I don't think I will ever catch up on things here.
Of course all these migrating birds have me right busy. Way more important then yard work anyway ;}.
Glad you are back at your summer stomping grounds safe, and sound. Hopefully it will warm up soon.
Have a good one!!

Welcome back, Karen! It sure has been cold! I hope you have a great summer up there!
Spring in nature is a quilters inspiration. I am excited to see what you will be making this sewing season. Your barn quilt is a great representation of you and your migrating.... you go south too ! But now your back in your nest.....LOL
I love all your photos, especially that sweet pup with the birdhouse in his/her mouth. What a great adventure, plus sweet friends to visit with!
Thank you for sharing the different fabric and patterns of nature with us! It must feel good to meet Janome again. Wishing the two of you lots of creative
You have been busy! Thanks for the update. :)
Your spring views are charming, Karen, albeit a bit cool when compared to Texas! It's great knowing you're back to hiking and enjoying wildlife. I think you're in your happy place no matter what season it is!
Springtime in TX is just beautiful! I sure miss the warm TX sunshine as I'm sure you do too! But being back home is always good too.
So glad you made it back home and are getting nicely settled back in. I'm sure Janome missed you. Love your barn quilt on the shed. Thanks for sharing all the great pictures!
I bet you are glad to be home and not in Texas right now with all this rain. It's so sad with so many lives and homes lost. More rain coming today. Love all your photos!
Hi Karen!
Glad to see you made it back home...spring is soon to come! Enjoy the great outdoors with friends and family...sewing can wait! ;-)
Hugs, Karen
Oh, Spring is such a glorious season! Love the glimpses you shared of your journey north and the beauty you encountered along the way. Enjoy!
I'd say you have spring market covered for sure!!!! So much more beautiful and edifying than the one in the fabric world - although that would have been fun too LOL! Glad you had such a wonderful time and are home again, refreshed and ready for some amazing creativity!!!
Sounds like you have had a very busy spring. Love your puppy assistant! I hope you are settling in well and the temperatures have warmed up a bit. Beautiful photographs and thoughts expressed in this wonderful spring post!
Hello Karen I thoroughly enjoyed reading and catching up with you in this post kind regards lyn
