Yes, Sir, Yes, Sir, Three Bags...

...finished.

But not full.
Yet.

My niece is expecting baby #2 later this month.
Her precious daughter is 4 years old,
so when I send a quilt for the new baby,

I will also include this little zippered pouch.
I think that when you are 4 years old,
you need someplace to put your treasures!

This zippered pouch was made
If you are at all hesitant about making one,
this is the tutorial for you!
When you are finished, you'll ask yourself,
"Why haven't I made these before now?"
And you'll jump right in
and make another.

Bag number two is my second attempt
at trying Noodlehead's Open Wide Zippered Pouch tutorial,
this time with success!

Was it just last summer
I was participating in a scrappy QAL,
then didn't care for the final project?
Or was it the summer before?
I lose track!
Too often!
Sometimes it's kind of scary.
Anyway, I came across the blocks I'd made,
and they said they wanted to be a bag.
Voila!

I saved the best for last.
Bag number three is a
Yay me!

Making it was like pulling teeth!   But I did it!

And, you know what?
When I am wintering in Texas,
I bet I make more.
At least two, to give as gifts.
I'm looking forward to cleaning out the bag I use now,
and transferring it's contents
before I go,
(in just over two weeks....YIKES!).

Join me there to see lots and lots of other bags
that have been made, most in the spirit of giving.
Patty has been posting many new tutorials for
making a myriad of useful gifts!
Check it out!!

Thanks for stopping in.
My next post will be another give-away,
so I hope you'll visit again!

Very clever of you to re-purpose blocks from another project. The four year old is going to love her little pouch and it will make her feel special, I'm sure.

How thoughtful to make something for the four year old - her world is going to be turned upside down with a new baby so this is a lovely thing for her. She will have all sorts of treasures to keep in there.

I have never made a sew together bag - all those zippers - yikes!

I have been enjoying the Bag It event - but I have only made one thing so far. Maybe I can squeak in another before the end of the month.

What awesome bags! You did a great job. I've never done a pieced open wide zippered pouch. Are you watching the US election? Stay safe until you get back home.

a 4 year old definitely needs a bag to carry all her treasures in. I feel a period of pouch making coming on for you

Love the bags, Karen. We all need someplace to store our treasures! I haven't tried a Sew Together Bag yet, but it looks like an interesting project (and so useful!)

All super bags Karen. I love your use of orphan blocks and I have the pattern for that Sew Together bag and really must attempt it sometime. Yours looks great. xx

Great post. Lots to see. You have been busy. Your sewtogether bag turned out great! Aren't they just awesome. Wait til you see how much you can get in it. Love the fabrics. I think I need to make another too. I love that you used an orphan block to make a bag. I must try that tutorial. Your niece will love the bag you made for her. I love things made with my initial too! Two more weeks...poor Janome will be lonely. hugs

I had no idea you were a bag lady! LOL! I'm afraid of zippers, so I haven't tried one. I think I was probably in high school the last time I did a zipper. Yours are lovely. I especially love the wide open pouch.

I love the bags. I'be struggled with making zippered anything so I'm really impressed. Maybe I'll try again, thanks for the link.

Also I'm doubly impressed with your spiral quilting on your previous post!

Great bag making. Of course every four year old needs her very own bag for treasures. I love each of the three bags and thank you for including the tutorial links. When I ever get my sewing things available I will make some of these. They do make excellent personal gifts. Well done dear...

Great little bags! And you're right, every four year old has treasures that need a little pouch for safekeeping :) It's especially important when there is a new baby in the house, stealing all the attention.

Great bags. You are my zipper hero. LOL I've decided to attempt more "new to me" things and to give zippers another chance. Lucky niece to have a talented and giving aunt.

Great bags! I don't have the patience for working through the patterns, but I love seeing them. You did a great job of using scrap blocks for the middle bag, too!

I love the one with the star -- it really stands out against the background fabric.

Love the bags! Cute pouch! I'm sure the little girl will love it! And congrats on the Sew Together Bag. I haven't attempted that one yet....it's still very much intimidating to me!

Three beautiful pouches! I love a zippy pouch, & have made many a Wide Open Noodlehead pouch, but am yet to brave the Sew Together... yours all look lovely, well done... your little niece will indeed love having somewhere to stash her treasures

We all love pouches and bags, I am grateful today for this post! Yours are all lovely, each and every one. I haven't summoned up the courage (yet) to make the Sew Together bag but I want to do one! I am going to check out the links you've provided, thanks, Karen; Christmas gifts need to be made soon!

Ooo. I do love all the pouches you're making. I like that Wide Open Zipper bag. And I 100 percent appreciate the challenges you faced making that Sew Together Bag. Definitely NOT an easy pattern to follow. Still, yours looks fabulous in those bright rainbow colors. You'll take such pleasure in using it. Only two more weeks and you're off?! Wow. How time flies.

These are so fun--each in their own way. You nailed it with the perfect bag for a 4-year-old. And what a neat idea to use an orphan block for a bag. My favorite is the sew together bag. I keep telling myself I need to make one of those. I really like the colorful variety in yours.
