You know that charm pack you couldn't resist purchasing,
but you only bought one,
because you didn't have 'a plan',
and it was an impulse buy?
And it sits on the shelf looking pretty,
but you don't know what to do with it,
because you only have one?
Or maybe you won it in a give away?
Received it as a gift?
Received it as a gift?
Well, let me tell you,
Stephanie @ Loft Creations,
has just published the most adorable pattern,
and you're going to want to make it!
As a matter of fact,
I'd be surprised if you can resist!
My initial intentions were to collect the needed fabrics
and pack them, along with the pattern,
in my luggage,
to make when I get back to Cape Breton,
because I already have my projects lined up to work on.
because I already have my projects lined up to work on.
Well, I took my morning stroll yesterday,
which led me right to to Joann's,
which led me right to to Joann's,
just in case they might have what I need
to augment what I already have,
so I can start stitching up this sweet quilt
right away!
I wanted to start to make it immediately.
Not too exciting, but I think it will finish up ok.
I had to take some 'secret sewing'
for the NSQBQ's* 3rd annual challenge
off of the design wall to take this pic,
but it's going right back up!
You'll have to wait until springtime to see.
Sorry. But something tells me,
it will be worth the wait.
Since this project jumped to the head of the line
in only the blink of an eye,
I think it's the perfect post for
mmm! quilts' DrEAMi! Linky Party

*What is the NSQBQ, you ask?
Four Nova Scotia quilters who get together a few times every year
to attend quilt shows and what not.
Linda @ Scrapmaster
Sheila @ Sheila's Quilt World and
Lesley, The Cuddle Quilter,
as well as myself, comprise the group.
After finding each other online,
we've been gathering for maybe about 5 years?
For this challenge, we have been doing a round robin!
It certainly has been a challenge, too.
But a fun one!
Enjoy your day!
XO,
Karen

There are some quilts that demand we work on them immediately....so fun!
How fun to have a group of women to do a round robin with! And you're right - that's a fabulous pattern.
I just love it when a project jumps out and takes over! Have fun!
It is a beautiful quilt and I can understand why you didn't want to wait! Have fun making it! Christine x
I simply LOVE Stephanie's new pattern! I do like the fabrics you found for it, even though you're not too entousiastic.
And how fun to be part of this group of women!
Have a great week.
What a super cute pattern! Love the lanterns. I have another lantern pattern that I was collecting Asian inspired fabrics for but I like this one way better. Glad you posted. I really like how yours is looking. Love that you used one colour for the lanterns. I have your NSQBQ Challenge on my design wall right now. It's finished and I am just over the moon about how it turned out. Cannot wait until we get together in the Spring.
that is a really lovely quilt.... you will enjoy it. I'm looking forward to seeing your secret sewing too...

I can't blame, it is going to be so cute!
Those greens look great. Good luck with the new pattern. When are you heading back east?? Make sure you bring warm weather and sun.
Oh that IS a great pattern! I have been meaning to design a quilt for that very reason while down here in FL this winter, but have not yet done so! After I did the free one on Craftsy (which is CRAZY popular) I knew there was a 'need' for these. You've described the 'sitting so pretty' and the bit by a DrEAMi! squirrel both so well! Only problem with this party is it creates MORE squirrels. Someone said they get squirrels when they're working on squirrels LOL! Glad you were able to link up before your travels.
Looking forward to seeing what give finished green lantern quilt looks like. Very fun! Sometimes your got to follow what feels right!
I always wonder how these things get sewn together. I can see from the pieces just how it works!
How fun to find something you just have to make RIGHT NOW! I think your greens will look lovely. Beautiful and talented group of ladies and how fun to get together and enjoy creative pursuits. Fun times dear...<3
I like your green lanterns, you picked a very nice pattern. I got inspired to use some of my japanese fabrics.

Love your lanterns, Karen, and your choice of greens. Can't wait to see what your creative quartet will come up with this year!
Love your green lanterns and your lovely background fabric. Stephanie has certainly created some wonderful patterns which I have also made.
I hope you will show your round robin quilt when finished. Those are fun to do.
Sometimes we just have to go where the inspiration takes us. Have fun with the new quilt.
I love Stephanie's pattern and the greens are just fabulous with it. That is a great photo of the group of you. Bet you have fun together.
Awww...thank you. I absolutely love the greens you're using and the alternating black print is perfect. Can't wait to see it done. :o) You're sweet. I happen to be in a new group of wonderful ladies and it's the best thing ever. Enjoy your group activities and outings.
You are right. This pattern has this "Come get me" look about it. Very irresistible indeed. I am sure your Green Lanterns are going to be fun for the geeks too. That is a great picture - all smiles but which one is you?
Hugs,
Preeti.
