In Light of it All

Sooner or later, everyone is touched by cancer of some form or other.  Sadly, this is now true for me.  My aunt has just completed treatment for breast cancer in Massachusetts, and my 'sister-in-law' is in the midst of treatments in Maine.

I would like to take this opportunity to share an up-lifting You Tube video that the Waldo County General Hospital (Maine) has produced in support of their oncology department, patients, and staff.  My 'sister-in-law' and her husband are even featured for a few minutes during the video!!

(WOW!!  I can't believe I successfully embedded a You Tube video in my post!!  I'm learning every day!)

Thank you for taking a few minutes of your time to view this video.

On a much lighter note, there is still time to enter the give-away at my daughter's site!  She crafts beautiful greeting cards and is giving away a "grab bag" full to promote her new Etsy shop!  Although e-mail has become many people's communication of choice, everyone still delights in finding something special
in their old fashioned mail box!

Wishing good health and speedy recovery to your family. I've always loved snail mail--makes trips to the mail box more fun. But instant communication is wonderful too.

Oh Karen, I'm so sorry to hear about your Aunt and Sister in law - I hope their treatment is successful very soon. We've been touched many times by cancer unfortunately. My Grandmother died of uterine cancer, my Mother in law is a breast cancer survivor and now my father in law has mesothelioma, the worst lung cancer you can have. He had surgery in December, and is now undergoing chemo, so we're all hoping for the best. I've also had several woman friends with thyroid cancer - it's so scary. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

The video is a riot - what a wonderful staff! I will share this on facebook this week, so many people I know and love will appreciate it.

I just popped over to your daughter's blog and became her follower too - she is so talented, her cards are wonderful! I'm really glad you shared her link, I will come back to visit and shop!

I also wanted to thank you for posting a comment on the Delta blog, that was really thoughtful!

Have a great week, and I'll visit again soon - Susan

Hi Karen, best wishes to your family. It's very difficult, I watches two of my clients go through the treatments. It seemed as if time dragged out the agony.

Awwww Karen that was beautiful.
I lost my Mum 17 years ago.
She saw the birth and first year of my premature Son.
She died of cancer of the jaw which then went to her face.
I cherish all the memories.
Thinking of you and your family xx

This is wonderful! No doubt, oncologists need to be most in touch with their inner child!
I am speaking in June at a palliative care conference. There is joy and laughter!
