Priorities

"If a child asked me a question that suggested even a faint awareness of the mystery behind the arrival of a migrant sandpiper on the beach of an August morning, I would be far more pleased than by the mere fact that he knew it was a sandpiper and not a plover." Rachel Carson

I love Rachel Carson..I try to honor her by teaching the children around the pond and woods about nature... I try anyway.... Michelle

I recognize that Carson quote... I read Sense of Wonder this weekend and loved it. Lots of good wisdom in there, so I will have to go back and read it again. And again. Thanks for recommending that!

That's a fantastic shot of the sandpiper, Karen. He seems to staring at its own shadow and wondering what in the world it is... hmm, it doesn't look edible?
