The first day of spring was yesterday?
As usual, I'm a day late,
and as always, a dollar short.
When Crafty Daughter says, "Mom, will you make me a/some....,
she always gets what she asks for!!
It's difficult to resist, especially when someone
really appreciates your work.
Awhile back, she asked for seasonal wallhangings.
We searched around and decided Kim Schaefer's Calendar Quilts
looked like a fun place to begin the journey.
I've just completed the hand-quilting,
and now only lack a label.
(Do you hand-quilt?
Check out Celebrate Hand Quilting,
a blog I only recently discovered.)
A machine applique project,
it worked up fairly quickly.
This is my second one.
(Of course, there are bugs on it!
Come to think of it , there are bugs on the first one I made, too!)
Not all of my daughter's seasonal wallhangings
come from this book,
but there are still some cute ones left for me to make!
Happy Spring!
Time goes by fast enough, and I hate wishing it away,
but I'm glad spring has finally arrived
(in most places)!

Happy Spring to you! what a perfect wall hanging for this time of year. You did a fabulous job. Love it.
This is beautiful---oh so perfect to welcome Spring. :)
really, really cute hanging!
I have two of Kim S. books and really like them, most patterns are fairly simple and easy to construct!
You make it look easy and fun! An expert quilter always does. That would be you. Maybe a wall hanging would be a good start for a beginning quilter. That would be me, of course.
Hi Karen...Just stunning work, and I like all your Happy Spring bugs!
I have tried quilting, and I love to sew,but there is something about that I can't get into!

Happy Spring, Karen! We woke to snow this morning and rain yesterday, so I'm not sure if spring has really arrived. But this is typical weather for our area. The wall hanging is adorable. I think I need to check this book out. You do beautiful work and I know your daughter appreciates your wonderful talent. Nola
Your hand quilting is wonderful! That's something I have no desire to do, and now my hands would never let me.
Very cute wall hanging to welcome spring. Such wonderful colours. I love it, bugs and all!
It's adorable! Happy spring to you! If you see spring...will you send it my way! It's 25F here this morning! BRRR!! LOL
I love those bright spring flowers. And, I know what you mean about making things for people who appreciate them. My daughter loves having me make her knit sweaters. I love seeing them on her. :)
Happy Spring to you too..
I'm not enjoying Autumn on this side of the world but it's not too cold yet :)

So cute! I love this and your quilting is great. I have this pattern and love all of them in this. I haven't made any of them yet but want to soon. I'm so glad your daughter appreciates your nice work. It is good to make things and be appreciated too.
