Living on an island in the north Atlantic
certainly has it's perks.
You can't deny the quiet, peaceful beauty

and you can't get lost!
But there are drawbacks, too.
If you run out of thread or need a zipper,
it's over an hour to the nearest shopping opportunity.
RCMP presence is minimal and the ATVers and dirt bikers
sometimes take over the roads,
filling your airspace with obnoxious noise.
And then, there is
Island Time.
Now, I'm all about slow, easy, and deliberate..
And I'm prone to procrastination myself, upon occasion,
but it is not my 'way of life'.
However, if you are a business here, you have a little monopoly,
and you 'get to it' whenever it suits you.
.
If you are told they'll be out your way on Wednesday or Thursday,
there's no telling what Wednesday or Thursday they are referring to.
Afterall, there are lots of them!!
In the meantime,
while I patiently wait and try to find the humor in Island Time,
I sew.

Am loving Valori Wells' creations.
Here are a couple of cell phone pocket purses.
The cell phone is kept in a back pocket,
snug against your body, but easily accessible;
and under the buttoned flap are little wallet pockets.
I've made several of these since last winter.
They are lots of fun to construct.
My daughter is a bag lady
and has a few in different colors,
some for fun, some for work.
They are also great for moms. Sometimes,
you don't need to take that great big diaper bag or tote
into a store. These bags are perfect to keep in the bigger bag
and just grab to run into the store for this or that.
Have a great day!

By the looks of it, I think I could get used to living on an island! :0)
You do also have some brilliant photo opportunities Karen.{:))
Thanks for the smile of the day , great post Karen and I understand all about Island time ;-) Great photos by the ranger and lovin those little purses !! Keep on stitching . Hugs Sheila
the island looks beautiful! I love peace and quite as well and sometimes the ATV vehicles are really annoying I think but then I do not use them so i guess that is why. When camping and others have them I hate it.
I love the little bags - yes sometimes all we need are keys, card, a little money and our phone. I like the look of big bags but rarely carry them as I do not have much to put in a bag!
HI Karen.... It is absolutely gorgeous there, but there is, always something or someone that doesn't see it the way we do !!
So glad you posted the cell phone pockets, because it reminded me I had forgotten to email you!!
They look great!!
Thanks Grace
oh, bless you and the patience you must have. :)
Yup, I think a little island living would be okay (for a week or so!)
Beautiful are your photos!
Greetings, RW & SK
Oh, I do love the area you live in! However, I do think I would have a difficult time not being able to run or walk to the store when I need something. I'm not very patient. Sorry that you have to put up with others who often spoil things with their recreational toys. Love the bags and the fabric you've made them with. Thanks for sharing the pictures! Nola
The photos are so gorgeous! I can't imagine living on a slow paced island. The cell phone wallets are adorable.
Hope you don't have to wait through too many Wednesdays or Thursdays. LOL
Lovely photos.
Great way to spend your time outside and inside.
What a beautiful place! I could do with some of that island time right now.
Oh what a beautiful island you live on! I guess there are pros and cons to any place one resides. I live in the bustling city of Chicago and island time sound very appealing to me. Though, I would not be to thrilled with the noisy ATV riders and dirt bikers.
I am always amazed at your many artistic talents. Love the fun, colorful pocket purses and wallets! Great ideas!
