And a New Year Begins

Well, Christmas has come and gone,
we've heralded in yet another New Year,
and this is the perfect opportunity to say thank you
to everyone who stops in for a visit,
whether it's from time to time, or regularly,
whether a comment has been left or not.

Blogging has been an incredible journey
and I am so blessed to be a part of this online community.
In a nutshell,
it has kept me motivated, enlightened,
challenged, and enriched.

Of late, I've just been playing in my stash,
attempting new to me techniques that I've tagged,
but never taken the time to try.
A little of this, a little of that,
but nothing big, nothing planned.
Yet.

My most recent sewing frenzy is
the Mod Mosaic Quilt Block

So much fun, I couldn't make just one.

Crafty Daughter will be accompanying her students
on a trip to Washington, DC come spring,
and we've been exploring hipster bag patterns,
trying to find the perfect one to customize for her every need.
Any suggestions?

Have a safe, healthy, and happy New Year!
Make it fun!
XO

Happy New Year to you! It sounds like you've been having fun trying new things and just exploring. That can be so rewarding!! I really like your new block and it would be such a great way to use up fabric from a stash.
Happy sewing,
Judy

I love coming to your blog for inspiration. I still haven't gotten back to the sewing machine, but if I do, it will be partly because of you.
Right now I am in the middle of a huge job of sorting and editing and culling my hard drive photo storage. I am hoping to reduce the thousands to maybe a thousand before storing them on the external hard drive. From now On I will try to dump photos i don't need as i use them for my blog or whatever.
Happy sewing!

You always have some awesome work to admire on your blog so I enjoy very much dropping by to see what you've been up to! My dogs are getting older and now they have shown an interest in having their own beds...once I get some of this MUST do stuff off my plate I want to make them a quilt a piece.

Happy New Year! I, too, am hoping to continue with learning new things. I like to stay in my comfort zone, but I know I need to try new things in order to grow. Good luck finding a bag pattern.

Happy New Year my friend! You must be happy being with your daughter for a time. Here's a bag I am thinking about making for my sister. http://www.robertkaufman.com/quilting/quilts_patterns/gatherer_crossbody_bag/#color:1

I like your block. Sadly, I'm not a bag maker, so I don't even know what a hipster bag is. However, I've been taken with the Japanese knot bags lately - not the ones you have to sew a circular bottom into, but the other ones. The patterns come in all sizes, and I've collected a couple I think are the best, so I might try one soon.

I love playing in my stash. Going through fabrics, remembering when I bought them and also wondering what I was thinking for certain ones. I can't wait to see what you're going to do with those blocks.
