One Monthly Goal - Check!

I'm running low on patience with my Dell computer,
so this will be a short post
to link up with Patty at Elm Street Quilts
for

My goal was to do something I seldom do....
finish a BOM/QAL.

I proudly present my
(Texas) Star Spangled BOM

All my close up shots were blurry,
but I am on Instagram,
secret code name -  ksroy54
(kaholly was taken, but isn't being used, hmmmm)
and my blocks are there.
Somewhere.

While I was attempting to take pictures this morning,
I had to share my tree with a Hairy Woodpecker,
who was undaunted by my presence.

Computer issues always put me in a sour mood,
so I leave you now before I say
something I might regret!

Enjoy your day!

I think your finish is lovely! I really love red, white and blue quilts. Do you have any plans for it's future? I hope a good thing in the sewing dept. redeems the horrid tech issues you're having.

I admire you for completing a BOM/QAL. It feels good, doesn't it? Though I do wonder, why don't these alongs ever include actually finishing the quilt? I would think a QAL would include QUILTING! I know that's a hurdle many quilt makers appreciate having help with - what to quilt. I'm sorry you're having computer issues. Yet. Sounds like it's time for a new one. Maybe a Dell refurbished? I have to say I love my Macbook, but I know it's not for everyone. Hang in there. Keep making!

Darn computers! Sell a few quilts and buy a new one! Your RWB quilt is so nice. I love the block with the churn dash in the middle. I wonder if your woodpecker knows my woodpecker? lol Mine isnt as big as yours though.

Such a beautiful quilt, great finish. I am with Fiona, why a hairy woodpecker? Sounds like it is time for a new computer for you..ours is much the same slow and frustrating, it is making a horrible noise too.

Very nice. I should feel more inspired by this to complete some of my UFOs. :o) Or maybe I'll just live vicariously through your finishes. LOL!

Love the BOn finish. You can never go wrong with RWB quilts. Your hairy looks like a very interested pet. We have them too but I only see the downy at my feeders here. I love bird watching too and spend more money on their seeds than I do fabric these days and that is a lot. I have been without my computer for 3+ months hence why my blogging is suffering. I hate thinking about starting over with a new computer when all my special software's are on the dead one. It will not turn on to access them in order to transfer files to a new one. Makes me crazy. This one is not very old.
Hope you have a good week.

What a fun, timely quilt considering everything is red white and blue this week. I hope your computer is treating you better now. So frustrating. Okay, I need to go check instagram now.

Good luck on your OMG. I didn't link up, partly procrastination, partly not sure what TO link up... I love woodpeckers, hairy, downy and pileated, my favourite! I'll never forget the first sighting of one on our second Alberta acreage that was 100% bush, then cleared just enough for a house and a bit of a back and front yard... breath-taking in a 'are my eyes really seeing what I'm seeing it looks kind of like Woody the woodpecker' ?!!

Spectacular quilt! I love RWB, though I've never made one. Hmmm...
The woodpecker is beautiful. You've gotten a wonderful shot. Send it in to Birds and Blooms. I have no doubt they will publish it.

Love your quilt! It is beautiful! Looking at your woodpecker made me so sad as I had a family nesting in my tree in the front yard. I loved hearing the little one chirping and finally getting to see its little head popping out. Then, one day there was nothing. I'm not sure if it flew off but I think some magpies or blackbirds that were hanging around may have gotten it and the parents because I have not seen them since. I've never had a woodpecker around before and it was such a delight for me and my family to monitor them. Maybe they will come back next year. I will have to check instagram for your pictures. Nola

Too many problems with your PC Karen. I find a hammer is quite useful at that stage.
