At Last!

Greetings from Texas!
Finally!

There was no time during this past month
for blogging or sewing, and I only managed to read a few blog posts.
I stayed with my elderly family friend
and she has a very large family.
I certainly got my family "fix", and now I'm totally drained,
so it might be a few days
before I set up my sewing area(s).

I'd like to thank everyone who checked in with me
during the month!
You're all too sweet and I am very blessed.

During the summer, one of my goals was to learn to sew curves.

And here's my final project,
hanging sweetly on Crafty Daughter's wall.
I tried to include a little glimpse of her drapes so you could see how well it matches.  I am stunned every time I step into the room.

It measures 30" square and was constructed using Free Spirit Solids.
Each block is machine quilted differently and I think if you click on the picture you will be able to see the quilting a little more clearly.  It was lots of fun to make.
I have named it Urban Crop Circles.
I got the inspiration from Quilts My Way,
although I didn't use her templates.

And that's all for now,
until I settle in and spread out!
First up?  Dog Gone Cute blocks, courtesy of all my lovely quilty friends!

Hope your month is off to a grand start!

December already.
Geesh!

Texas! Awesome! My nephew and his wife and their 3 kids are visiting the wife's brother+family in Texas over Christmas - be sure to wave at them (I'm sure everybody in Texas knows everybody else, so I'm equally sure you know my niece's brother!) :D

That quilt is AWESOME - the larger picture does show the quilting wonderfully - and the different designs are awesome squared - wow! It would never have occurred to me to do that, but it works SO well!

Glad to hear you made it safely. Enjoy your time. Don't forget to send sun and warmth from time to time to those of us freezing. LOL

Yes, you have definitely been MIA, so it's good to know you're now where you're supposed to be... for a while. :-) I love your Urban Crop Circles quilt! It DOES look fantastic on the wall there, and your use of solids and FMQ is quite impressive! I think you can safely add "modern quilter" to your professional title. I just adore what you've done, especially the quilting. Obviously your skills have improved dramatically with practice, and that new sewing machine. Great work!

Welcome back. :) I'm a home-body recharger, too. I like to see people and visit places occasionally, but it seriously drains me. This is a really great finish. I popped it up to see the quilting, and I like the way you mixed up spirals, sunpoints, and circles to give each block a different blend, yet everything is related.

Enlarged the photo and I see how exquisite your circles and quilting is. I understand how drained you are from moving and staying with others. May you enjoy your December and the Magic of Christmas. <3

Your curves are beautiful. You should show them off more often. Can I please get a closer look?
Thank you for your sweet card. Hope your new year is exciting and joyful.

That's a really creative design you've made. You must be a really good expert with designing, you're like a fashion designer or maybe a quilt designer, whatever designer you would like to consider yourself to be. Happy New Year, Karan!
